Stillwater Diving is returning to the Maldives!
October 19-28 2023
A few hundred feet outside the airport in Male we will board the Dhoni, which will take us to the main boat. The Dhoni is our dive boat for the week, all scuba related gear stays on the Dhoni except cameras. This means you will not hear a compressor at all during the trip, and the entire Liveaboard is our personal space to relax in and enjoy. Living quarters are very large for a Liveaboard and each has its own bathroom complete with shower. Over bed fans, AC units, large closet space with drawers, and a mini fridge adorn each room as well.
Your swimsuit will be washed and dried after every dive, fins will be put on and taken off for you, beds remade between dives, tea and coffee are always available 24/7. Laundry is done on the boat. More food than the group could possibly eat was brought to the table for every meal. Culinary highlights included many tuna and shrimp dishes, squid, lamb, chicken, lentils, beef tenderloin, omelettes, chocolate cake, and ice cream! The lengths this operation goes to to take care of you is simply incredible. It is first class diving and luxury on the boat all the way.
This Liveaboard travels further than others, taking us to less visited more remote areas. A small group of 12 divers ensures great dives that are never crowded, and a personal touch to your experience. Our dive guides have 20,000+ dives in the Maldives, and put us on the best diving every minute of every day. Every dive operation is not the same, and this is one of the best on earth.
Whale sharks, manta rays, spotted eagle rays, sting rays, dolphins, reef sharks, tuna, turtles, nudibranchs, mantis shrimp, crabs, lobsters, gorgeous soft and hard corals, and more fish than you could possibly imagine are common sights on this trip! In a place like this the possibility of seeing incredibly rare things is much higher than in the Caribbean. On our previous trip we saw a great hammerhead, two large bull sharks, guitar rays, and a leopard shark.
Commercial fishing inside the atolls is prohibited. This provides a vast area of sanctuary for marine life, which means you will see more fish than you likely have seen anywhere else. Dive sites are flat out full of life!
