Apostle Islands

Wisconsin’s Apostle Islands National Lakeshore consists of 21 islands and expansive mainland shoreline on Lake Superior. Famous for its sea caves, normally visited in the winter, this area also has shipwrecks!

We have teamed up with Isle Royale Charters again to put together this fun filled and relaxing long weekend get away.

We will be meeting in Bayfield, WI on the evening of Thursday September 22nd, spending the night on the boat, and embarking in the morning. Friday and Saturday we are planning three dives a day, and two on Sunday, after which we should be back to Bayfield by early afternoon to unload our gear and head home. Each night we will be at dock on one of the many islands.

Most of the wrecks here are shallower, in the 25-50’ range. Names of a few are: Lucerne, Sevona, Pretoria, and Finn Mccool. But there are many other things to check out in this location. Massive underwater rock formations, wall dives, and of course the sea caves, which we can kayak around in during our surface intervals as well.

Food from Friday lunch to Sunday breakfast is included in the trip price. Captain Ryan is quite the cook, and previous trips have included marinated pork chops, Porterhouse steaks, pancakes and bacon, French toast, and Spaghetti!

Also included is your stay on the boat, air fills, and kayak use. Nitrox is available at $60 for the trip or $10 a fill.

Historical surface temps average 60 degrees in the month of September in this location, but it will still likely be colder at depth.
